Help us to grow the National Youth Folk Ensemble

EFDSS’ National Youth Folk Ensemble is more than just a wonderful band of musicians: it’s also a major outreach initiative, through which we can work with young people who may otherwise have no access to folk music at all. Through the Ensemble, we’re able to invest in the next generation.

We’re so proud of everything the National Youth Folk Ensemble has achieved so far. It’s very important to EFDSS that we are able to expand this project, and now we need your help for it to grow.

No matter how much you are able to donate, it would make a huge difference to young musicians in the future. We firmly believe that with musicians as talented as the members of our Ensemble, the future of folk will be in safe hands!

Here are just some examples of what your gift could help us do:

  • A donation of £10 will enable us to invest in our youth outreach programme, and offer places at our full-day workshops to even more young people
  • A donation of £20 would pay for an Ensemble member’s one-to-one session with a folk musician at the top of their game, like this year’s Artistic Director Sam Sweeney
  • A donation of £50 would pay for a young artist’s place at a gig in a nationally renowned venue or festival
  • A donation of £100 would pay for a world-class guest tutor to join the Ensemble to share their expertise
  • A donation of £200 would underwrite a young person’s fees for a full year of the programme

What’s more, we’ll keep our supporters abreast of the latest developments in the National Youth Folk Ensemble, with videos, photos and updates from the Artistic Director.
